Mary Ann Putzier

1940 - 2018

Mary Ann called herself a teacher first, and artist second. She taught art her entire adult life, ranging from preschoolers through adults in private and public schools and, in retirement, taught through various arts organizations and gave private lessons. She held a Masters Degree in Art Education from the University of Minnesota/Mankato and took extensive post graduate studies. Teaching art was her joy. She loved to guide and inspire students to find their own unique creative expression.

Watercolor and porcelain (china painting) were her favorite mediums. Her style was mainly representational. With emphasis on portraits, florals and scenery, she worked with many subjects and styles, always experimenting and trying new things. Subject inspiration mostly came from her travels, personal experiences and immediate surroundings.

Mary Ann's many awards are a tribute to her long and remarkable art career.
